From Understanding to Action: Introducing Learn and Invest in Skybound Wealth App 3.2

Built on Skybound's own Plume Wealth Tech platform, the app connects everyday financial content with adviser-led support, so a question that starts with an article can lead directly to a conversation with the right specialist.

Skybound Wealth App 3.2 introduces Learn and Invest, two dedicated experiences designed around how people discover information, build financial understanding and seek adviser-led support. No one seeks financial advice because they want another app. They seek advice because something in their life has changed.

They may be planning an international move, approaching retirement, reviewing how their family is protected, considering property or trying to decide whether an investment opportunity belongs in their long-term plan. Those questions rarely arrive neatly during a scheduled annual review. They often begin between meetings, when someone reads an article, watches a video, speaks to their family or encounters an issue that makes them stop and think.

The question may not need an immediate answer. People read, watch, discuss, return to the subject and gradually develop a view before deciding whether they are ready to act. Skybound Wealth App 3.2 has been designed around that real journey.

Why One Area Became Two

The previous Skybound section brought content, opportunities and information from across the Group into one area of the app. Over the past year, we studied how people interacted with it and identified an important distinction.

Learning is gradual. People explore, consider, return and build confidence over time. Acting is a separate moment. It happens when somebody decides that a subject has become relevant enough to require a conversation, review or decision.

Version 3.2 gives those two moments their own dedicated experiences: Learn and Invest. This is more than a change to the navigation. The content experience and the route from discovery to adviser support have been redesigned around how people now use apps to consume information and make decisions.

Learn: Useful Between Adviser Conversations

Learn gives users somewhere useful to return to between adviser meetings. At its centre is a curated feed bringing together recent and relevant content from across Skybound.

Users can see what is new, explore subjects that matter to them and understand what other members of the community are engaging with. Familiar interactions, including likes, comments and sharing, make the experience intuitive without allowing the interface to distract from the financial subject itself.

Learn also recognises that there is no single way to consume content. Some people want a concise explanation. Others want a detailed guide, an expert discussion or a longer-form presentation. The section therefore brings together several formats:

  • The Bulletin: Financial planning, market and international lifestyle updates presented in a clearer, more readable format.
  • SOAR Magazine: A dedicated magazine-reading experience that makes every edition easy to browse inside the app.
  • Guides: More detailed resources for people who want to understand a subject properly or return to it later.
  • Shorts: Concise, app-native videos explaining financial planning concepts and timely issues.
  • Masterclasses: Longer-form expert content for subjects that deserve greater depth.
  • Events: An upgraded experience through which users can discover, review and register for upcoming sessions.
  • Brands: A dedicated area explaining Skybound's wider specialist brands, services and regulated propositions, with a clear route to request more information.

Each format has been designed around interfaces people already understand from the apps they use every day. That familiarity reduces friction and keeps attention on the content rather than on learning how to navigate it. For internationally mobile clients, this matters. Their financial lives rarely remain static. Countries change. Careers develop. Families grow. Tax rules evolve. Retirement draws closer. Protection requirements and property plans change.

Learn gives users a direct way to stay close to Skybound's thinking as those circumstances develop.

Invest: A Clearer Route From Interest To Advice

Understanding something does not automatically mean somebody is ready to act. When that moment does arrive, the next step needs to be clear. Invest brings selected opportunities across investments, protection, property and planning essentials into one organised section of the app.

Each opportunity is designed to answer the first questions a user is likely to have:

  • What is it?
  • What need could it address?
  • Who may find it relevant?
  • What are its principal features and important considerations?
  • What can I do next?

Depending on the proposition, users can begin an application, register their interest, request a quote or ask for a call. Short, guided journeys then capture the information required for the appropriate Skybound team or adviser to take the conversation forward.

That distinction is important. Invest is not a self-directed financial advice marketplace, and it does not turn a complex planning decision into an unadvised online transaction. It provides a clearer front door into adviser-led planning.

The app helps the user identify something that may be relevant and make their interest known. The adviser remains responsible for understanding the individual's circumstances, assessing eligibility and suitability, and recommending the appropriate next step. Technology begins the conversation more efficiently. Professional judgement remains at its centre.

One Connected Client Journey

The greatest value of version 3.2 comes from how Learn and Invest work together.

A client may discover an issue in their feed, read a related guide, watch a Short, attend a Masterclass and return to the subject several days later. When curiosity becomes intent, they can take the next step inside the same connected experience. The journey is simple: discover, understand, form a view, act, then speak to an adviser.

Previously, that process could become fragmented across emails, websites, videos, downloadable documents and earlier conversations. The client might need to locate the original information, work out who to contact and restart the discussion without context.

Learn and Invest reduce those gaps. Clients can arrive at adviser conversations better informed and with a clearer idea of the question they want answered. Advisers can spend less time reconnecting scattered information and more time considering the circumstances, risks, trade-offs and long-term objectives that matter.

Mike Coady, Chief Executive Officer of Skybound Wealth Management Group says of the upgrade:

“People do not make important financial decisions the moment they first encounter an idea. They read, listen, discuss and return to it. Learn supports that period of understanding, while Invest provides a clear route back to advice when intent forms.

“This is not about turning advice into an online shop. It is about removing the dead ends around the adviser relationship.”

Built To Remain Current

A content-led app can quickly lose its value if information becomes stale or every update depends on a new development release. Version 3.2 has therefore been built as a continually configurable platform rather than a fixed collection of screens. Skybound teams can manage the content feed, create and update different formats, control which selected propositions are active or visible, publish events and trigger relevant notifications through a dedicated backend experience.

Aggregated engagement and journey data also help the team understand which content is useful, where users encounter friction and how the experience can be improved. The infrastructure sits behind the interface. Users should not have to think about it. What they should experience is current information, relevant opportunities and a clear next step.

The Latest Stage Of A Wider App Journey

Version 3.2 is not an isolated redesign. It follows a series of significant improvements delivered throughout the year. Earlier releases redesigned the dashboard and financial overview and brought digital onboarding, KYC, DocuSign and a secure document vault into the app. The range of provider data integrations has also continued to expand.

Each release has addressed a different part of the client relationship:

  • A clearer view of wealth.
  • A more convenient way to complete important processes.
  • Secure access to documents.
  • More connected financial information.
  • Now, a better way to discover, understand and act.

Powered By Plume Wealth Tech

Skybound Wealth App 3.2 is powered by Plume Wealth Tech, Skybound's proprietary technology platform.

Plume connects the client-facing app with the technology supporting Skybound's advisers and wider operating teams. Owning the platform allows Skybound to build around its own advice model, respond directly to client and adviser feedback, and continually improve the experience without waiting for a third-party roadmap.

Husain Rangwalla, Chief Technology Officer at Skybound Wealth commented:

“Two new sections may look simple, but they represent a complete redesign of discovery, content, propositions and adviser routing.

“Because the app is built on Plume, our teams can keep the experience current, learn from real use and improve it without waiting for a third-party roadmap. The technology is doing its job when the complexity disappears for the client.”

The result should not feel like more technology. It should feel like better information, a more obvious next step and an easier route back to the adviser who knows the client.

Skybound Wealth App 3.2 Is Now Live
