This month our lead content writer, Lee Schofield, sat down to have a virtual coffee with Compliance Manager Faisel Mahboob.
This month our social media & communication executive, Katie Andrews, sat down with Financial Planner, Taylor Condon after she hosted the In Depth Look At Green (ESG) Investing Webinar. Together they talked about Taylor's career, the Women Like Us network and all things Skybound.
Taylor is based in our Geneva office. She assists individuals and families in organising their finances to achieve their future goals. Drawing on her knowledge gained from her roles in the UK and Switzerland, Taylor works alongside clients to create and implement a comprehensive financial plan designed to ensure their long-term ambitions become a reality while placing focus on protecting their wealth.
At my previous employment one of the top managers was a female. I was always so inspired by her success and her passion for watching people progress. She always supported me and despite others telling her I was too young and too inexperienced, nominated me for the financial planner academy. She had faith in me and is a big reason I am where I am today.
In all honesty, no two days are the same. A typical day can include but is not limited to, introductions with prospective clients, client review meetings, internal training or researching new providers and solutions. Additionally, I work very closely with my associates, we have continuous dialogue and training to further their education and careers.
The Women Like Us network is something I am very proud of, as it enables other women who want to pursue a career in finance a voice and mentorship to make sure they feel supported.
I have always enjoyed being able to help people! So, to have a job where I can help people from different countries and industries create a better future for themselves and their families is rewarding. More recently too, making a positive impact on the wider world since the introduction of our Responsible Investing Portfolios with environmental, social and governance considerations.
I was awarded top newcomer adviser for the company after completing my first full year of being a financial planner, which was a great honour.
I help people create a clear roadmap of their lives, taking into consideration everything they want to do and achieve along the way.
The Women Like Us network is something I am very proud of, as it enables other women who want to pursue a career in finance a voice and mentorship to make sure they feel supported. A very common phrase used by women who have paved successful careers is 'sending the elevator back down' and I think this is so important. Although I am by no means at the vey top yet, it is still important to make sure you're giving support and creating a better environment for the people following behind you.
A big change for me and many others over the last two years, has to be remote working. We went from being completely face to face to having to navigate a new virtual world of communication. It was an interesting time, and we were challenged to think of new ways to remain in continuous contact with our clients and to make the process as engaging as possible.
