This month our social media & communication executive, Katie Andrews, sat down with Financial Planner, Taylor Condon from the Geneve, Switzerland office.
This month our lead content writer, Lee Schofield, sat down to have a virtual coffee with Compliance Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Faisel Mahboob. Together they talked about Faisel’s career, compliance and all things Skybound.
Faisel is based in the UK and is responsible for keeping up to date with the ever-evolving regulatory landscape within the financial world, and to ensure all areas of the Skybound group of companies comply with the required rules and regulations.
Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I’ve taken inspiration from many people throughout my life such as career mentors and family members. I’ve also been inspired by some of the teams I have worked in.
What does a typical day at Skybound look like for you?
A typical day may consist of providing support and guidance to colleagues regarding financial and AML regulations, reviewing new and existing client policies, holding companywide training sessions or signing off a press release. Every day brings a new challenge, which I am always ready to meet.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy working with a team that share the same passion for their job as I do. With clients all around the globe and as such with differing regulatory requirements, there is always something for us to discuss and I love how we all share our knowledge to help solve questions as a team.
What have been your biggest accomplishments with the Skybound team?
Something I am very proud of is being part of the expansion of the Compliance Team. I have helped with recruitment and training to not only increase our staff numbers but push all members of the team to develop professionally. I am also proud of the excellent working relationships we have with regulators around the globe.
Manage and mitigate risk to the business and across the business within the financial service sector. Educate and implement policy process and procedure in line with our regulatory requirements.
