Anthony Donnelly is a UK-qualified Private Wealth Adviser with more than 15 years of experience in financial services, working with individuals, families and business owners across the UK and international markets.
Having spent a significant part of both his personal and professional life overseas, Anthony understands that managing wealth as an expat brings a different set of considerations. Where you live today may not be where you retire, assets can be spread across different countries and jurisdictions, and decisions that make sense today may have very different consequences as circumstances change.
Anthony Donnelly's international experience began at an early age. Growing up in an RAF family meant living overseas was a normal part of life, and his career later took him across Europe and the Middle East. This experience has shaped his understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that come with building a life and accumulating wealth away from home.
Throughout his career, Anthony has worked across private wealth management and financial planning, advising and supporting high-net-worth individuals and families with increasingly complex financial circumstances. He has managed and developed more than £50 million of client relationships and held both senior advisory and leadership positions.
His approach starts with advice rather than products.
Anthony believes one of the biggest challenges people face when managing their own finances is simple: we don't know what we don't know. Tax rules change, legislation evolves, markets move and new planning opportunities emerge. Unless you work within the industry, it can be difficult to keep up with those changes and understand which ones actually matter to you.
Good financial planning starts with understanding what someone wants to achieve. Whether that's building enough capital to retire at a particular age, making better use of surplus income while overseas, reviewing existing arrangements, protecting a family or preparing for an eventual move home, once the goal is clear, the role of advice is to determine whether the current plan is likely to achieve it — and, if not, what needs to change.
Anthony Donnelly also brings experience working with employers and corporate clients, including workplace financial education, employee benefits, pensions and financial wellbeing. This gives him a broader perspective on the financial challenges faced by both individuals and the organisations that employ them.
Anthony's approach is centred around holistic financial planning — looking at the whole financial picture rather than considering individual investments or products in isolation.
Every client's circumstances are different, so the starting point is understanding where you are today, what you want to achieve and the challenges or opportunities that could affect you along the way.
Depending on your circumstances, Anthony can help with areas including:
These are not standalone conversations. Investment decisions can affect retirement plans, protection needs can change as families and careers develop, and moving between countries can alter the assumptions on which an existing financial plan was originally built.
Anthony's role is to help clients understand how those different pieces fit together and make informed decisions with the wider picture in mind.
Outside of financial planning, Anthony is a keen sailor with a longstanding interest in fitness and climbing. Having lived and worked internationally for much of his adult life, he continues to value the opportunities that come from experiencing different countries and cultures.
His philosophy is straightforward:
Understand where you are, be clear about what you want to achieve, and have a plan for how you're going to get there.
