This Calendar Helps You:

  • See every major expat deadline, sunset clause and rule-change cut-off between now and 2028 in one place.
  • Identify which deadlines apply to you - and which ones are inside the next 12 months.
  • Understand who each deadline affects, what it changes, and what the cost of missing it usually looks like.

At least two of these deadlines affect every expat reading this. Several are already counting down. The April 2027 UK pensions-into-IHT change, Spain’s 2026 exit-tax expansion, Australia’s Div 296 super threshold and Portugal’s IFICI window are the headline ones - but they are far from the only ones.

Why These Deadlines Compound

Some of the deadlines on this calendar have a single terminal date. Others repeat year after year. Both kinds are expensive, but they are expensive in different ways, and they need different responses.

This calendar was built by advisers tracking cross-border rule changes for UK, Australian, US, Portuguese, Spanish and South African expats. Each entry names the date, who is affected, what changes, and what the financial consequence typically looks like. It deliberately stops short of recommending workarounds, those are situation-specific, and the wrong workaround usually costs more than the deadline itself.

If two or three of these are inside your 24-month window, a short conversation with one of our advisers can help you decide which to act on first.
